I/B/E/S Guidance Datafeed
The I/B/E/S Guidance Datafeed from Thomson Reuters provides forecast information on company performance, including current data, historic means, and global aggregates. It contains analyst forecasts for companies around the world, covering over 22,000 companies.
The basic file naming convention for the zipped data files is DguidanceXXXX.zip. More specific information about the file names is detailed in the IBES QFS User Guide (see link below). These files can be downloaded via Web browser and then unzipped. The flat text files contained within the zipped files can be easily opened in Microsoft Excel. They use a vertical bar ( | ) delimiter between fields.
Availability
Access to the I/B/E/S Guidance Datafeed is available to Stern faculty and PhD students. The Guidance Files (containing the research data) are posted to the “guidance” subdirectory of the FTP account. For login information, please send email to research@stern.nyu.edu.
